Latest Pictures

Us lost looking for a place called Palmer Chapel. After 15 miles of 9ft wide gravel roads with hairpin turns and 8% grades the GPS told me to turn off the side of the mountain. So we never found it. Picture of a lifetime. Highest elevation on the parkway.

And of course Lambi was there.
Cherokee County Cycles

Kept seeing signs that said roadside table 1/4 mile. I had no idea what a roadside table was. Turns out to be a table on the side of the road. Go figure.

Lambi just chillin'

Crystal River Ride

Turned another full thousand yesterday. Marie and I took a ride up to Crystal River Harley Davidson, looked at their incredible inventory of bikes. Then we took off down Ozello Trail and went to the boat ramp at the end. On our way back we stopped at a little buffet and ate to much for the amount of miles we had to ride back. So that's over 3 thousand miles now in about 6 weeks.I love the sign in the background. By the time you can read it, if the water didnt give it away, it would be way to late to stop:)

Been busy riding!

Sorry haven't posted in a while. Been doing a lot of riding with Harvey and Just Dave from the FL Crew off hdforums.com. Great guys! Lots of knowledge in all things related to riding. I am about 8 miles short of hitting the 3rd full thousand miles since I bought the bike. Will probably hit it on my way to work tomorrow. Not exactly exciting or romantic but another milestone none the less.
The second full thousand was hit in a little town called Umatilla 2 weeks ago on a ride out to Daytona. First time I have been there since 1994. It sure has changed. Went to destination Daytona to the dealership there and the J&P store. Had a quick little lunch down on the boardwalk at the Mardi Gras arcade.
This is on the boardwalk....

This is outside Destination Daytona..Will try to post more often but work has been busy. Did some work on the bike, put on a new rear tire and fixed a exhaust leak. Changed the oil and plugs the other day. Ready to get out and put down some miles.

1st Full Thousand

Turned the first full thousand miles today on the bike. I was on a ride with a guy I met on www.hdforums.com they have a group call The Florida Crew. This was Harvey(uride2). They have a great motto "no rules just ride" and ride we did. I covered about 240 between the ride into Tampa and the ride home. We went up to Crystal River Harley Davidson then down a road called Ozello Trail. A little winding road that leads out to a boat ramp on Crystal river. We covered Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and I think we were in Citrus county also. Great back roads little hills and nice turns. I can't tell you how great it was to look back in the mirror and not see anyone! The bike turned 33k as I was coming back down Ozello Trail in a torrential downpour. When I stopped later to take my rain coat off the pockets were full of water! That's how bad the rain was but it was fun riding none the less. More later, be safe!

Stress Burn Off

Took a little ride yesterday after my twelve hour shift to burn off the stress of the day. Here is a picture I took along the way! Reminds you that you don't have to die to catch a glimpse of heaven! The rains had cleared making for a fantastic sunset.

The new ride

For those that didn't know Marie and I sold the chopper. As much as I hated to see it go it was just no longer practical for our needs. We also had other priorities I needed to address. Those priorities however did not work out. Then this bike came along and we just had to snatch it up. She is a 1990 Harley Davidson Tour Glide. It only has 32k miles and everything works as it should. So with the car paid off and us in the best financial position we have been in, regardless of what the credit report says, its time to work less and see more. This will be the vehicle that gets it done. We have, in the last week, already put on about 400 miles riding around Pinellas County looking for problems and have found none.

The first concerns are headsets for the intercom so we can communicate on longer rides. Also a taller windshield is needed. The one it has appears to be factory but someone cut it way down. While I love the wind in my face; it is a bit much at long highway speeds.

Hoping the first real ride will be Key West but not sure when, but hopefully soon.
